Day 9, Sunday 16th August, and this is an especially poignant song for people from Littondale and Upper Wharfedale. It was recorded to mark the departure of our vicar for his new post in Skipton. He will be much missed, and we wish him well. It’s also the last day of our virtual festival, and a fitting farewell to all those who have joined us here in the last week, and who may visit the site in future.
The Blessing
Kari Jobe, arranged by Richard Reeday
The Lord bless you
And keep you
Make His face shine upon you
And be gracious to you
The Lord turn His
Face toward you
And give you peace
The Lord bless you
And keep you
Make His face shine upon you
And be gracious to you
The Lord turn His
Face toward you
And give you peace
Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen
May His favour be upon you
And a thousand generations
Your family and your children
And their children, and their children
May His favour be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, …
Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen
This beautiful arrangement of ‘The Blessing’ was recorded by each choir member individually during Lockdown, as a farewell ‘gift’ to James Theodosius the Vicar of the Parish of Upper Wharfedale and Littondale.
It marks his special wonderful and personal ministry amongst us.
The version we presented to James is available on Youtube – this version uses the same recording but different visuals.
